Overview

This guide describes how to install and configure Nessus Monitor with ADR.


Nessus Installation and Configuration

  1. Go to Nessus and register with your name and email address:
    https://www.tenable.com/products/nessus/nessus-essentials
  2. Go to Downloads and download Nessus for your operating system.
  3. Once the download is finished, run the installer package and follow the on-screen instructions to finish installation.
  4. After installation, allow your CCE server to communicate with your system from the firewall settings.
  5. To access your Nessus on the Server IP, follow the directions below:
    1. By default, your Nessus will be accessible at https://127.0.0.1:8834. To make it accessible from other servers at your system’s IP, login to your Nessus portal.
    2. Go to Settings > Advance Settings.
    3. Find the Server IP option. Add the server IP and save the settings.
    4. Reboot the portal to apply the changes. Afterwards, you will able to access the portal from the given IP address at https://<server_ip>:8834.


ADR Configuration

Follow the directions below to add the Nessus to ADR.

  1. Go to Settings > Administration > Add-On Store > Search.
  2. Search for Nessus Monitor.
  3. Select Nessus Monitor from the results.
  4. Select Add Nessus Monitor.
  5. Complete the following details:
    • Name: Enter a name for the device.
    • CCE Host: Enter the CCE IP Address
    • Access ID/ User Name: Enter your Nessus Username.
    • Password/Secret Key: Enter your Nessus Key.
    • Config: Add the following JSON with the IP address of your Nessus Server:
      {"nessus_ip":"192.168.19.21"}
  6. Select Save.
